Things I've Learnt In Science Year 10

In science on the first day we learnt about poo. How poo can maybe make you healthy. They were getting healthy people's poo, taking away the bad things in them, and then giving it to the obese people to see if it helped.

Yesterday we did a presentation about fibre. Bread, fruit, vegetables, seeds and nuts have fibre in them. Fibre is good for your digestive system. If your poo is too hard you need to eat more fibre.

Nathaniel did our presenting and I pushed the buttons.

Science is about experiments.

Alvina came in and I was a bit bored. I ate a Moro bar at the breakfast because I like Moro bars and they're nice. I left straight away because I wasn't hungry because I ate breakfast which was water.

The environment around me is very good. I play lots of sports like touch, tag.

PE is very fun because we get to play games for a whole period. My favourite game to play in PE is turbo touch because it makes you think where to pass and how to use your teammates to score A try.

Health Is boring because we just learn about what a good breakfast is, Why its good for you and how its healthy for your body.

In maths we learnt how to translate breakfast in different names.

In food teach we are had to watch a video and in this video it had country breakfast. Once we finished watching that we had to research the ingredients we can make that food next week.

Teachers going on strike

The reason why they go on strike is that The teachers is unhappy about the working conditions and have told the government it is time for something to change. Essentially, teachers want to feel valued for the work they do and to be supported so they can pursue teaching as a life-long career.
=
I feel that this is not fair because of the working conditions at school is terrible and the government is doing nothing.

Height & Armspan of 9RMz

Today we had to measure the length for our height and arm span. Once we finished measuring we have to record our scores on a dotted graph. After that we had to create a graph in google sheets. As a person grows our arm span and height grows bigger. Here are my results.

Cybersmart

Cybersmart

  • What it means to be cybersmart and why it is important
What is means to be cybersmart is to always be on task and to never be dogey online.

  • Two things you learnt about being cyber smart and how you could apply it to your own life. If I see someone bullying online I would help out the survivor give him/her some advice and help them get their this hard time. If I met the cyberbully I would tell them to say sorry for doing it, If they don't do it I will give them a hiding.

  • Describe one of each:

  • A personal strategy a young person can do to help themselves if they are being cyberbullied
If I was that person I would ask teachers, Parents and others for help so I know next time when it happens again what I need to do.
  • A interpersonal strategy a young person can do to help their friend who is being cyberbullied
I would help them by taking them to the social worker, Dean or their parents because cyber bullying is a very effective to the survivors emotions.
  • A personal strategy a young person who finds themselves bullying other young people can do to help build their self-esteem and change their behaviour
Tell them to stop bullying because they are hurting the survivors feelings and could get in big big trouble.

Plastic bag ban

Image result for plastic bag pollutionToday I read an article on the government decision to ban plastic bags because plastic bags have a damaging effect to the environment such as pollution and many other things. I agree to this because it is killing the animals around this mess. The impact this will have a positive impact to ban the plastic bags because it will help the environment to keep clean and healthy.

Laos Migration to Nz

Today I presented my migrant inquiry on Laos immigrants moving from to New Zealand. The push reasons why they left their country was because there was a war between the Laos Pathet government. I was nervous at the start but then it got a bit easier. The things that i could improve when presenting is to stand up and speak to the audience instead of siting on the chair and to speak louder.

Migration model

This migration model shows the movement between tokelau and new zealand. Mainstream Flow is much bigger than the counterstream flow because there are more tokelauan people migrating to new zealand. But there's not much tokelauans returning back home. Their are push and pull reasons why they migrate to another country. The push reasons are the negative reason why people leave their place of origin. (Eg) The push reason the sea levels might rise up and cover their homes. Pull are the positive reason that attract people to a new place. (Eg) And the pull reason could be to get better learning and experience of the country.

Tokelau in 20 years time.

I think in 20 years time Tokelau would become the most famous country in the Pacific area because they would invent better things then NZ,  Australia and even Tonga. I think they would build flying cars, better train stations and even your very own robotic butler. Or maybe Tokelau might stay the same because their parents might stay with the traditional way.  I honestly think that that tokelau might not be a country because the sea levels rose Tokelau and and wrecked Tokelau's houses and many other things. The reason why this is happening is because factory heats the carbon dioxide underwater making the sea move higher and higher.

Changes about diet

In tokelau there have been some changes about their diet. In the past they would hunt for food but nowadays they brought food from their local dairy. The main type of food they would eat was fish, fruit, and seafood but now they eat imported food from nz such as wheat-bix, milk , tin fish and many more. If tokelaun people keep eating imported food they would get fatter and fatter.

Tokelau imagination

When I was on the boat sailing back home I was thinking what I can do to improve my country. I had a couple of ideas. Eg building brand new houses because of our deadly storms we had lately, And there education can I become a teacher and help my people learn more instead of moving.

My boat ride home was very annoying because every time we hit a big wave i always fall on the ground.  I am very existed because I haven't seen my family in years but also annoyed because I left my other family back in New Zealand.

Social Studies

Today I learnt about two new Social Studies concepts,  Globalisation and Migration.

The first concept  globalisation means The process by which business or other organisation develop international influence . An example of this concepts is like McDonald. McDonald was invented in may 15th 1940 in San Bernardino California and are now in our contrary like New Zealand Australia and more.

The second social studies concept Migration means the seasonal movement of people from region to another .An example of this concept is like living in one place and moving to another such and Auckland moving to Taupo.

Why is anzac day celebrated on the 25th of april.

Why is Anzac day so important?
the 25th of April is one of New Zealand / Australia most important day because it marks campaign failed in the military objectives, The austailan and new Zealand actions during the campaign left us all a Anzac a powerful legacy. With the coming of the second would war Anzac day also served to commemorate the lives of new Zealanders and Australians who died at war.

Why do we have the poopy as a symbol of Anzac?
Red poppies made of light cloth or paper, They are traditionally worn on and around Anzac day as a mark of respect to those who have died while serving our country.  The red or Flanders poppy has been linked with battlefield deaths since the time of the Great War (1914–18). The plant was one of the first to grow and bloom in the mud and soil of Flanders
