Place value partitioning

In week 2 we were learning about place value partitioning.

The story of Justus.

3 years ago there was a man named Justus. He was the best farmer In New Zealand. Justus lives with his wife and two kids named Judah and Siaosi. Growing up Justus dream job was to work for the military and protect the country of New Zealand. But instead he became a farmer.

Working as a farmer is real hard. You have to feed the dogs, go hunting, shearing sheep and more. Down where he stays was so quiet that you can hear your own farts. But all of a sudden something hit Justus mind.

Justus said that he was done being A farmer. He was sick in tired of doing the same things over and over. So he applied to work in the military. A few days later he got a email from war chief Wiseman saying thank you soldier for applying for this role see you next week. Justus was exited.

Justus got to the military base and spotted war chief Wiseman. War chief Wiseman said you're kicked out soldier we have to much people that have improved In two day so sorry. Justus was heartbroken he came back home and said to his wife i'm staying to be a farmer for the of his life.

This week for our writing we had to make a copy of our writing test and had to edit it. I  have found this A bit hard because I had to read threw my writing to find all of my mistakes that I have made.

What's the point in having a special place. Is it a good place for peace and quiet? Our is it a place to chill with your mates. Well today i'm going to explain where’s my special place and why it’s special to me.

Pt england school is my special place because of the leadership opportunities, sports games, the visitors and even learning. This year at pt england school I am a house captain for te aurere the red house and i'm even the kapa haka leader for 2017.

Why is it so special you ask?

Pt england is very special because of the kind people I hang out with and even the awesome teachers.

This special place is awesome because we have chromebooks instead of books, reserve and our very own beach.

So now I have told you where special place is and why.

This is one of the other task that our literacy class have been doing. It's called A piece of paradise.In this activity you have to make your own harvest out of shapes. The story is about a rain god and a sun god that have a big harvest battle, but none of them won

This week our group the Bears have been learning about the whale child. Mr Wiseman gave us 3 books to read. Our first book was the whale child. In each box it has 5 different questions to answer. Then it keeps going and going until the last question.

This is my new task that i've been working on this week. It's called people and places names. Here are the place names the people names and in every single name. I have explain what each name means. Such as Motutapu is the main island in the story.

Our journey to polyfest.

Polyfest what is polyfest? Well Polyfest is an festival for pacific islander and other cultures. Polyfest Has performics, Stores, and more. Yesterday Team 5 from pt england school went on a journey to polyfest.  

On Thursday the 16th of march we gathered to get on the bus to our journey to polyfest. As we arrived at gate 3 we have finally made it our journey has just started. We sat down and started singing some Waiata.

YESSS! we have started our tour around polyfest.

Our first station was AUT. Aut was showing us what they do and what their creation was and about.

Our second station was very important. They showed us what to do when a pot is on fire. We could put a wet tea towel or a chopping board over it.

And our last station was with the police they showed us what offices do.

And my favorite thing of all watching the performics. The performics that I really enjoyed was the maori stage. Showing the pukana ,there singing and more.
