Walt: Solve multiplication and division problems using reversibility
This week we have been learning how to solve a multiplication and division problems using reversibility. This task was very complicated for me and my friends.

Manaiakalani Slow motion 2017 Room 1.

Finally our annual Maniakalani Film Festival is coming!! Ever since 2007, Pt England School has been apart of Manaiakalani Film Festival. 


Room 1 is making a video about things in slow motion. Like water balloons thrown at our face, Smashing glass, Spitting water at each others faces and even throwing a water balloon at someones stomach.

My part was with my two best friends. (TJ and Flyn) We had to go down on our knees, looking staunch waiting for the water balloons to be thrown. When they finished throwing the water balloons at us, I was very exited because I got it over and done with.

The making of this video was very funny and I would love to do this again.

Cross Country

On your marks, Get set, Go!! Everyone started sprinting as fast as they could trying to catch up to Siaosi But they couldn't. I even tried myself but I couldn't. After one lap I tried not to give up so I kept on going taking my time.. A few minutes later I was almost at the finish Line. So I quickly ran threw the gate and then threw the park. And then everyone started to cheer my name. Go Judah! Your almost there, You can do it. I had finally finished Coming 9th place.

This week we have been learning how to solve a stage 7 strategy, I had to explain how I got my answer in brackets.

1. It rained 1.35 inches on Saturday and 1.98 inches on Sunday. How much did it rain on Saturday and Sunday combined? 3.33

(1+1=2)(0.3+0.9=1.2)(0.05+0.08=0.13.)

2. There were 7.6 litres of water in Jacob's bathtub. Then 2.9 litres drained out. How much water is left in the bathtub? 4.7

7.6 - 2.9 = 4.7

(0.7 - 0.2 = 0.5) + (.6 - .9 = 0.3)  

3. A carpenter bought a piece of wood that was 6.15 meters long. Then he sawed 2.14 meters off the end. How long is the piece of wood now? 4.01

6.15 - 2.14 = 4.01

(60 - 20 = 40) + (0.1 - 0.1 = 0) + (.5 - .4 = .1)

4. A chef bought 4.2 kilograms of almonds and 7.8 kilograms of pecans. How many kilograms of nuts did the chef buy in all? 12

4.2 + 7.8 = 12

(40 + 70 = 110) + (0.2 + 0.8 = 1)

5. It snowed 8.9 inches on Monday and 3.9 inches on Tuesday. How much did it snow on Monday and Tuesday combined? 12.8

8.9 + 3.9 = 12.8

(80 + 30 = 110) + (0.9 + 0.9 = 1.8)

6. It rained 0.97 cm on Monday. On Tuesday, it rained 0.4 cm less than on Monday. How much did it rain on Tuesday? READ CAREFULLY-THIS ONE WILL TRY AND TRICK YOU!  1.05

0.97 - 0.4 = 1.05

(0 - 0 = 0) + (0.9 - 0.4 = 0.5) + .7

7. Omar spent Saturday picking berries at a berry farm. In the morning, he picked 3.61 kg of berries. In the afternoon, he picked 2.4 kgs. How many pounds of berries did Omar pick in all? 6.01

3.61 + 2.4 = 6.01

(30 + 20 = 50) + (0.6 + 0.4 = 1) + .1

8. A bee colony produced 0.91 pounds of honey, but bears ate 0.9 pounds of it. How much honey remains? 0.01

0.91 - 0.9 = 0.01

(0 - 0 = 0) + (0.9 - 0.9 = 0) + .9

9. Oscar bought 5.87 pounds of melon and 3.18 pounds of cherries. How much fruit did he buy in all? 9.05

5.87 + 3.18 = 9.05

(50 + 30 = 80) + (0.8 + 0.1 = 0.9) + (.7 + .8 = 1.5)

10. Vince mixed 0.8 grams of salt into a pot of soup he was cooking. Before he served the soup, Vince added 0.25 grams of salt. How much salt did Vince put into the soup in all? 1.05

0.8 + 0.25 = 1.05

(0 + 0 = 0) + (0.8 + 0.2 = 1) + .5

The great marble challenge.

Last week we are reading a texted called the great marble challenge. We had to read threw the text and fill in this activity. I thought they would fail this challenge but they didn't.

Complex sentences

Last weeks writing we have been working about complex sentences. In slide three we had to highlight the independent clause blue and the dependent clause red. This activity was hard but fun at the same time.

Sniff Swing Swipe.

This week we have been learning about sniff swing and swipe. This is about animals being kept in zoos. Children around the community's have been taking part in making fun inventions for the Keas. We also created our own invention in our google drawings. Here is my inventions.

What I'm looking forward to this term.

This term I am looking forward to play 15's rugby for the school. We will be playing kings prep, Dilworth, Saint Kentigerns Remuera, Saint Kentigerns Pakuranga, Sacred Heart and more. This year is my second time playing 15's for the school. I cant wait until we get back on the field again.

The story of Justus.

3 years ago there was a man named Justus. He was the best farmer In New Zealand. Justus lives with his wife and two kids named Judah and Siaosi. Growing up Justus dream job was to work for the military and protect the country of New Zealand. But instead he became a farmer.

Working as a farmer is real hard. You have to feed the dogs, go hunting, shearing sheep and more. Down where he stays was so quiet that you can hear your own farts. But all of a sudden something hit Justus mind.

Justus said that he was done being A farmer. He was sick in tired of doing the same things over and over. So he applied to work in the military. A few days later he got a email from war chief Wiseman saying thank you soldier for applying for this role see you next week. Justus was exited.

Justus got to the military base and spotted war chief Wiseman. War chief Wiseman said you're kicked out soldier we have to much people that have improved In two day so sorry. Justus was heartbroken he came back home and said to his wife i'm staying to be a farmer for the of his life.

This week for our writing we had to make a copy of our writing test and had to edit it. I  have found this A bit hard because I had to read threw my writing to find all of my mistakes that I have made.

What's the point in having a special place. Is it a good place for peace and quiet? Our is it a place to chill with your mates. Well today i'm going to explain where’s my special place and why it’s special to me.

Pt england school is my special place because of the leadership opportunities, sports games, the visitors and even learning. This year at pt england school I am a house captain for te aurere the red house and i'm even the kapa haka leader for 2017.

Why is it so special you ask?

Pt england is very special because of the kind people I hang out with and even the awesome teachers.

This special place is awesome because we have chromebooks instead of books, reserve and our very own beach.

So now I have told you where special place is and why.

How to have a fun weekend

Are you sitting on your couch by yourself,  playing the game by yourself well, I am here to show you how to have fun in the weekend.

The first way by having a fun weekend is to bring a friend over for the night. Having your friends over is very cool. Because you can play the game, have water fights and more.

Having your friends can make your week awesome.

Another way by having a fun weekend is to eat junk food and watch movies. But don't forget to have a work out the next day. OR ELSE! Dun dun dunnnnnn.

And the last way in having a fun weekend is to spend time with your family. Spending time with your family will help you bond and get to know each other better.

I have learnt that if you bring a friend over it will always be fun and that is how you have a fun weekend.

Water wise

WALT - I make sense of new information before, during and after reading by connecting it to myself, texts I know and my world.

This week in my literacy class we were learning about water wise. I learnt that water can clean out your inside waste. You can survive much longer with out food but not drinking water. 

Why do we drink water.

People have believed that drinking water can only make people hydrated but that's not the only thing.  There is more things water can do.

Dehydration can cause lots of drama. People have been getting tired, Getting some cancer and even headaches. Well to keep away from getting all of those things you need to drink more water so it keeps you hydrated.

Drinking water can clean your insides. If you drink water the water will clean all the waste inside your body so it can stay clean and healthy. If you don't drink water you will die because your insides are not clean and because of dyhatrasion.

So why do we drink water?

Is water important?

Well if you don’t drink water, you will die. It's that important. Depending on our environment. We can live only a few days without water but at least a week. We can live much longer without food but not water. For most of us, we should set up the drinking of water far more than we currently do.

Did you know that drinking water can help you improve your modes when you are angry.

The three kete

This week our literacy class learnt what the three ketes are. I learnt that the three ketes names are Mind, Body and soul. Did you know that the three kete were brought from the heavens by tanemahuta.
